William Spivey Said YES!

Seed and Source Literary Group was a dream long deferred. Ever since I was a teenager I wanted to work in producing books, cultivating writers… Publish things I found interesting and enjoyable. Over the years I danced around this idea. When I grew up I continued to dance around this idea. I currently run a Black newspaper that affords me a job and connection to publishing Black folks. Some of my best friends are writers, authors and book hustlers. The people I most admire in the world are authors, like Octavia Butler… whose “Parable of the Sower” had a profound effect on me. So much so, this literary agency is a nod to her. As is my publishing house Earth Seed. Yes, the time has come to launch my dreams!

Will Spivey is a very talented writer who has entrusted me with the care of cultivating and nurturing and prospering his writing life. He said YES! To allowing me to represent him. By happenstance… Or better still the universe is giving me what I desired. He was pondering seriously writing not as a hobby, but as a career. I was already coaching and nurturing several writers as a hobby just because I liked doing it. We connected. After frequent and lengthy conversations over this past year, of pros and cons. Here we are. True partners in the creative process. A great collaborative spirit exists…One that I hold dear.

William is currently blogging at www.EnigmaInBlack.wordpress.com. He is the founder and contributor to Average Citizen Forum, a Facebook Community where politics is the order of the day. He is working on a romantic-thriller series. He is working on a romance novel with a working title called “Letters”. There will also be a small chapbook of poetry, a children’s book and several other writing projects in the works.

It is my great pleasure and honor to welcome him to the Seed and Source Literary Group.

In the coming weeks, we will announce all the writers who have said yes to me and this journey! Press releases will roll out. Authors will be highlighted and their work shared.
